Major Ballsup's Hobby Shed

2026 will be my third year of using the Ovelist approach to track my hobby progress.  It's working for me so why change it.  As before I've split out the doing from the gaming ( here ).  The list is mainly determined by what I've got outstanding as we start the year and then modified as I complete these items and acquire more.  Here's the starting point: The starting balance is: 28mm - 6 figures (all Verrotwood) 20mm - 45 figures, 1 gun, 1 aircraft (all French Indo-China War) 15mm - 7 afvs (all WW2) 6mm - 368 figures (11 Iran-Iraq/1980s, 33 1980s, 9 1980s afvs/aircraft; 240 Seven Years War; 84 19th C. French Colonial) All of the above are additions to my existing collections and there's a square each to cover these.  My collection covers such a wide range of periods that I have more than enough getting these rounded/finished off to last me the rest of my life, let alone starting anything new.  However, as before I’ve left a number of squares with quest...

And that was 2025.  A really mixed bag of a year.  Too much serious stuff for my liking, but unfortunately it's one of the "joys" of getting older.  From a hobby perspective it was successful and I managed to finish quite a lot off and played a few games.  The end of year Ovelist updates ( doing and gaming ) give the detail if you're interested.   Thanks to all those that read my blog this year and especially those that have taken the time to comment either here, on Facebook or on TMP.  I very much appreciate it.  I wish everyone all the very best for the New Year. Introduction  In a clearing in the Verrotwood lies the dwelling of Jinger and Schweg, known as the 'Shroom Brothers.  They are famous or more accurately infamous, as breeders of the 'shroom hog, which they use to find the most potent mortshrooms.   The cultists of The Uncoiling of Beiysss and Wisentii have ventured into the forest to try and steal the hogs and the brothers' supply of mortshrooms.  However, the brothers are far from defenceless.  They are competent fighters in their own right, but they have perfected a mode of fighting as a pair which makes them strong in defence and lethal in attack.  Additionally, continual exposure to mortshrooms has given them the ability to regenerate Health when they take any Damage.   They have also protected their dwelling.  The tethered Greater Reanimated of their departed third brother guards the 'shroom hogs.  The mortshrooms storage shed also contains a Ghost.  Traps surround the hom...

Birthday, A&E, ECG, Doctors, chest pains clinic, ECG, dentist, blood tests.  What a fun packed month it's been!  You think you know what's coming don't you, that I didn't do much hobby wise.  On the contrary dear reader, the thought of one's possible demise has given me a good old kick up the arse to get on with stuff.   Completed  Here's what I finished off during the month: 37 Heroics & Ros 6mm Soviet Paratroops finished as Iraqi Republican Guard.  This is a full platoon with a HMG support.  I also based a BRDM-2 that had been hanging about.
