2026 projects - first third update

Keeping up my tradition April is time for the first update of the year.  The gaming update for the same period is here.

At the start of the year this is what the projects board looked like (detail here):

And here's the updated list as of the end of April:

As always big ticks are for completed projects, little ticks show how many months I've worked on something for that project.  The only changes since the start of the year are:

  • The 16th C. Revamp has been completed, but I've added some more figures so it's now just 16th Century.
  • I've added a new project - Fall of Granada.  This is a period I've wanted to do forever it seems, well at least 30 years since I travelled round Andalucía.

The starting balance as of January 2026 was :

  • 28mm - 6 figures (all Verrotwood)
  • 20mm - 45 figures, 1 gun, 1 aircraft (all French Indo-China War)
  • 15mm - 7 afvs (all WW2)
  • 6mm - 368 figures (44 Iran-Iraq/1980s, 9 1980s afvs/aircraft; 240 Seven Years War; 84 19th C. French Colonial)
The current balance is:
  • 28mm - 17 figures (5 Verrotwood, 12 Celtos)
  • 20mm - 14 figures (4 French Indo-China War, 10 WW2); 1 gun, 1 aircraft (all French Indo-China War)
  • 15mm - 92 figures ( 76 late 15th Century, 16 late 16th Century); 1 WW2 afv
  • 6mm - 365 figures (137 1980's Iran-Iraq/Soviet-Afghanistan Wars, 192 Seven Years War, 36 19th C Colonial); 22 afvs/aircraft (all Iran-Iraq/Soviet-Afghanistan Wars)
I've completed:
  • 28mm - 1 Verrotwood.
  • 20mm - 40 French Indo-China War figures.
  • 6mm - 48 19th C. French Colonial figures; 48 SYW figures.
And added:
  • 28mm - 12 figures (All Celtos)
  • 20mm - 10 figures(All WW2)
  • 15mm - 92 figures (76 late 15th Century, 16 late 16th Century)
  • 6mm - 96 figures; 17 afvs/ aircraft (All Iran-Iraq War/1980's)

My main focus during this period has been on the French Indo-China project and the revamp of the 16th Century collection.  Both are now more or less finished.  Once I worked out what I was going to do the rebasing of all the 16th Century foot didn't take too long.  I probably spent more time thinking about it than doing it.

I've kept to the plan of doing at least one terrain "thing" a month focusing on the trees.  I've repainted all the tree base edges which was one of those jobs that I've been meaning to do for years.  And I made some more winter tree stands.

The Fall of Granada/late 15th C project has filled one of the empty squares that I started the year with.  I've still got a few ideas in mind for those remaining unfilled squares.
