10mm Hobgoblin bolt throwers

Image
The last unit for the 10mm Warmaster Revolution Chaos Dwarf army is a pair of Hobgoblin Bolt throwers.  I can only take one of these for a 1,000pt army, but they came as a pair in the army deal I got from  MGS Miniatures  so I did them both.  These were really nice little models as all of them have been.    I used the same colour palette as I did for the Hobgoblin infantry  and cavalry which sped the whole thing up.  I spent more time doing the bolt throwers than the crewmen.

10mm Hobgoblin Wolf riders

The latest addition to my 10mm Warmaster Revolution Chaos Dwarf army is a unit of Hobgoblin Wolf Riders.  These are 3D printed figures by AnkyloMiniatures from  MGS Miniatures .  I knocked these out very quickly, probably because I've been painting nothing but 10mm for months now and I've finally got the knack of it!    I used the same colour palette as I did for the unit of Hobgoblins .  This was focused on a few primary colours for smaller areas such as the standard, hats, shields etc. and muted natural colours for the larger areas.  I think it's worked well.   This was the last real unit for the Chaos Dwarf army.  I have a pair of Hobgoblin Bolt throwers and the Chaos Dwarf general himself to do and then the army will be ready to wreak havoc.

10mm Chaos Dwarfs Bull Centaurs

As I was finishing off the last of the  Chaos Dwarf Axemen  I made a start on a unit of Bull Centaurs for my 10mm Chaos Dwarf army for Warmaster Revolution.   I've enjoyed painting all of these10mm figures, but the Bull Centaurs have proved to be my favourites for the Chaos Dwarf army  I just loved working on them and they were really quick to do. As well as being characterful sculpts packed with detail this was one of the few units that didn't need any repair work done!  Now I've had a fair bit of experience working with these resin figures I'd say that the only issue is how brittle they are.

10mm Chaos Dwarf Axeman Regiment Three

In the last week I've finished off another regiment of Chaos Dwarf Axemen for my 10mm Chaos Dwarf army for Warmaster Revolution.  These are all 3D printed figures bought from MGS Miniatures.    I did the first two regiments of axemen last year, but this lot had a load of broken axes. I couldn't face fiddling about with them at the the time when I had so many others to be getting on with.  Now I've got the numbers down I bit the bullet and spent a frustrating couple of hours re-attaching the axes.  Painful but necessary.   I kept the colour palette a bit more muted for these with more grey and black to contrast with red and blue.  All of the regiments have their own colour scheme.  Now I've nearly finished the Chaos Dwarf army I've almost perfected my painting method.  Always the way!

10mm Gnoblars

The latest addition to the 10mm Warmaster Revolution Ogre Kingdoms army is this unit of Gnoblars.  These are 3D printed figures by Teremki Studios bought from  MGS Miniatures .  All of the Teremeki sculpts have been excellent and enjoyable to paint.  The detail on these are better than a lot of metal 28mm figures in my opinion.  I had a bit of practice getting the skin right when I did the Ogre Leadbelchers which was very handy.  The cheeky little scamps have come up well.  There's a few missing weapons and maybe a limb or two but life is too short to try and reattach these and they don't really notice when they're all in a mass.

February 2023 hobby update

Image
A busy and successful hobby month, consequently this is quite a long update.  I got some units finished, played a couple of games and even got some terrain work done.   Completed This month I've completed the following:   A regiment of 10mm Hobgoblins for my Chaos Dwarf army.  You can see them here . A regiment of 10mm Ogre Leadbelchers for my Ogre Kingdoms army which you can see here .   I did some work on making my terrain more usable specifically for a game of Burrows & Badgers.  I made some veg beds out of old credit cards and based all my Renendra wattle fencing.  I'll try and do a post when time permits.  In progress The following are on the table as February draws to a close: A regiment of 36 10mm Gnoblars for my Ogre Kingdoms Warmaster Revolution army.  I've just got the details to do on these and they'll be finished early in March.   I cleaned up and primed my last unit of 10mm Chaos Dwarf Axemen and a unit of Bull Centaurs.  Eight of the axemen had broken
